RO Membranes Manufacturer in India
A reverse osmosis (RO) membrane is a semi-permeable film that lets water pass under pressure while rejecting dissolved salts, organics and microorganisms. Industrial RO elements are spiral-wound: sheets of thin-film polyamide composite membrane are wrapped around a central permeate tube with feed spacers and loaded into pressure vessels. The 4040 (4-inch × 40-inch) and 8040 (8-inch × 40-inch) formats are the standard for commercial and industrial systems.
Navbharat Water manufactures RO membranes under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system whose scope covers reverse osmosis membranes and plants, and supplies them across India from Mumbai. Three series are available in both 4040 and 8040 sizes, each in HR, HF and FR grades that trade salt rejection against flow. The BW series is rated for brackish water up to 2000 ppm with 99.5–99.8% salt rejection; the TW series is optimised for 1500 ppm tap water with 99.0–99.5% rejection; and the SW series is built for seawater and high-TDS feeds, with 99.7–99.85% rejection and a 1200 psi maximum operating pressure, against 600 psi for BW and TW. All three operate at pH 3–10 and up to 45 °C feed temperature.
Choose the series by feed salinity first, then the grade by priority: higher rejection where permeate quality matters most, higher flow where output and energy matter more. Size the 4040 or 8040 format to your pressure vessels and plant capacity, and run a system projection with your full water analysis. Protect the membranes with correct pre-treatment: cartridge filtration, antiscalant dosing and dechlorination with SMBS, since polyamide membranes are damaged by free chlorine. Frequently asked questions
Which NWPL RO membrane should I choose for my feed water?
Choose by salinity. The TW series suits tap and low-salinity water around 1500 ppm, the BW series suits brackish water up to 2000 ppm, and the SW series is for seawater and high-TDS feeds, rated to 1200 psi. Each comes in 4040 and 8040 sizes.
What is the difference between HR, HF and FR grades?
They trade rejection against flow. For example, on the BW-4040 test the HR gives 2,400 GPD at 99.7% rejection, the HF gives the most water at 2,700 GPD and 99.5%, and the FR gives 1,900 GPD with the highest rejection at 99.8%.
