Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC)
(Aln(OH)mCln-m)x · 20–80 mg/L
Pre-hydrolyzed inorganic coagulant for charge neutralisation — reacts faster than alum, performs across a wide pH 5–9 window, and needs far less pH correction. Produces 30–50% less chemical sludge and lower residual aluminium, with dense rapid-settling flocs for high-turbidity ETP and WTP streams.
Ferric Chloride
FeCl3 · 30–150 mg/L
High-performance coagulant for high-turbidity, high-COD industrial effluent. Precipitates phosphate as FePO4 (optimal pH 5–7), strips heavy metals such as chromium and zinc, removes colour, and doubles as a sludge-thickening aid — forming dense, fast-settling flocs.
Anionic Polyelectrolyte
Polyacrylamide · 0.5–3 mg/L
High-molecular-weight (12–22M Da) anionic polyacrylamide flocculant. Bridging-flocculates inorganic and mineral suspended solids into heavy, fast-settling flocs — dosed downstream of coagulants in secondary clarifiers and settling tanks. Performs best at neutral-to-high pH.
Cationic Polyelectrolyte
Polyacrylamide · 1–5 mg/L
Cationic polyacrylamide (10–80% charge density) that neutralises negatively-charged organic and biological sludge — the standard conditioner for decanter centrifuges, belt presses, filter presses and screw presses. Increases cake dryness, improves filtrate clarity, and cuts polymer consumption per kg of dry solids.
Caustic Soda
NaOH · 20–200 mg/L (pH dependent)
Industrial-grade alkalinity builder for neutralising acidic wastewater streams in equalisation and pH-correction tanks — ahead of biological treatment and metal precipitation. Also used in UF/membrane CIP regimes. Supplied as lye or flakes.
Sodium Hypochlorite
NaOCl · 2–5 mg/L · 10–12% Cl2
High-strength disinfectant (10–12% active chlorine) for pre-disinfection and biofouling control on UF/MBR membrane trains. Low continuous dosing at the intake or UF feed inactivates bacteria before they build EPS cake layers — measurably slowing transmembrane pressure rise.
RO Antiscalant (Phosphonate / Polymeric)
Proprietary blend · 2–6 mg/L
Phosphonate/polymeric threshold inhibitor that prevents CaCO3, CaSO4, BaSO4 and silica scaling on RO/NF membranes. Dosed at the high-pressure pump inlet to hold LSI in range — maintains flux, extends membrane life, and cuts CIP frequency.
Sodium Metabisulfite (SMBS)
Na2S2O5 · 2–5 mg/L · 97–98%
High-purity (97–98%) dechlorination agent that protects polyamide RO membranes from oxidative degradation — membranes begin to fail after roughly 1,000–2,000 ppm-hours of chlorine exposure. Dosed upstream of the RO cartridge filter at ~1–1.5 ppm per 1 ppm free chlorine; also used as a biostatic preservative for stored elements.
